10 Cloverfield Lane (2016) - Ending Explained

10 Cloverfield Lane is a 2016 American science fiction psychological thriller directed by Dan Trachtenberg. J.J. Abrams and Lindsey Weber produce this movie while Josh Campbell, Matthew Stuecken, and Damien Chazelle working on the scripts.
10 Cloverfield Lane is one of the story that contained an extremely uncomfortable and claustrophobic experience. Starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Goodman, and John Gallagher Jr., the film has only a handful of big-name actors in it, including a small-but-important cameo from Bradley Cooper.
Michelle (Winstead) rushes to pack up and leave for a trip to the mountains, after she and her boyfriend start to argue. Michelle wakes up chained to a wall and suffering from severe injuries as a result of her being run off the road.
Later we know that Michelle is saved by Howard (Goodman). He tells her that she has to stay inside the bunker because the air inside it is toxic. Michelle believes that whatever she believes may be true, and she continues to live in the bunker with Howard and Emmett (Gallagher Jr.).
10 Cloverfield Lane is an intense horror movie that blends elements from sci-fi, psychological thrillers, and horror films. It’s one of the greatest horror films made by Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and John Goodman’s terrifying performance is enough to make the film a character-driven horror film.
There are more deeply rooted themes at work in 10 Cloverfield Lane, which play a huge part in the film’s confusing ending.
Howard becomes increasingly dangerous and unhinged, so Michelle decides to risk escaping and setting a fire to escape from the bunker. Michelle manages to escape just before the bunker explodes.
She quickly realizes that Howard was wrong when he said that the air in the bunker was toxic. Michelle thinks that the air is breathable after she sees some birds fly overhead, so she removes her breathing mask.
After what seems like an obvious conclusion, 10 Cloverfield Lane continues to intrigue the viewer with the sudden appearance of a huge alien in the sky. Suddenly, a giant alien monster attacks Michelle and forces her to fight for her life.
She kills the alien by throwing a giant Molotov cocktail. Michelle is finally able to leave Howard’s farm and head towards safety, but she must decide between a safe area in Baton Rouge or going to Houston to help fight the creatures. 10 Cloverfield Lane ends with Michelle heading to Houston to help fight the aliens.
