4. Sita

Sita was a legendary figure in Hindu mythology. People describe her as an incarnation of the Hindu goddess, Lakshmi.

She is said to have been married to King Rama of Ayodhya and was married to Lord Hanuman during her exile from Ayodhya. She is considered as one of the most important female characters in Hindu mythology.

5. Laxmi

Laxmi, also known as Lakshmi, is the Hindu goddess of wealth and prosperity. Her iconography includes symbols such as a garlanded woman with outstretched hands, riding on a peacock or on a lion or with an elephants head and sometimes accompanied by other animals such as lions or swans.

She is often depicted standing on a lotus flower or sitting on a lotus throne with her husband Lord Vishnu, who holds the conch shell (chakra) and the discus (Chakra).

6. Sati

Sati was an Indian princess from Mathura in Uttar Pradesh who died in order to preserve her husband’s honor after he had been killed by his brother in law at Chidambaram Temple in Tamil Nadu. She is also known as Sati-Devi or Devi-Sati.

7. Kamala Das (Kamala Surayya)

Kamala Das was an Indian social worker, writer, poet, and feminist. She was a pioneer in the women’s movement in India.

Through her poetry, she express the plight of Indian women everywhere and fought for women’s rights, education, and employment opportunities for women.

These women have left an imprint on Indian history which will always be remembered by all Indians across generations to come!
