3. The paint will look terrible right after you paint it

When you paint a wall, the paint will look terrible when it is wet. This is because the paint dries from the outside in. The paint on the bottom is what really holds the paint together.  The top layer of paint is just texture.

The paint below it is what gives the wall color. Because the bottom layer is still wet, it will look like the wall is peeling or cracking.

You will be tempted to repaint it, but you won’t see it looking nice and smooth until the next day. You have to trust that it will look better the next day.

4. It will take longer than you think

I was shocked at how long it took to paint my wall. I thought it would only take a couple of hours. It took me about 5 hours.

I spent a lot of time cleaning the roller and using paint thinner to paint off the floor. I was also working really slowly because I was doing it by hand, and I’m not very good at that.

So, allow yourself enough time to get the job done.

5. The best way to do it is to do it by hand.

There are a lot of different ways to paint a wall. You can use a roller, a sprayer, or a brush. I did it by hand, and I was pleased with the results. If I had used a sprayer or a brush, I would have had to spend at least twice what I spent yesterday.
