Anxiety is when you feel nervous or worried about something and your heart beats faster, and you start to sweat, or your hands get clammy, and you start to shake, or your stomach feels sick or like it’s going to throw up. When you feel anxious, your body goes into fight or flight mode, and it starts to pump out stress hormones.
The stress hormones then cause the body to go into shock and your muscles tense up and your heart beats faster and your blood pressure rises. It’s all part of what’s called the fight or flight response.
When your body goes into shock, it starts to create symptoms like a pounding heart, trembling hands, a rapid breathing rate, sweating, stomach cramps and so on. The fight or flight response can cause you to feel nervous, tense and sick.
When you’re in a fight or flight response, it’s difficult to think clearly, and it’s hard to think rationally. There are several methods to get rid (or, at least, to ease) your anxiety.
This is the easiest method to learn and the most effective. There are many relaxation techniques that you can use.
You can also learn how to reduce your anxiety by being more relaxed, through exercise, yoga, meditation and so on. But first, let’s look at some relaxation techniques.
Exercise has been shown to reduce anxiety and increase your mood and energy levels. In fact, exercise can be a very good way to relax if you’re in a hurry or if you have no time for other methods. Exercise can make you feel better even if you’re not physically tired (like walking or swimming).
