When sealing your brick, it is important that you do not use too much of the product or else it can seep into the cracks and crevices and eventually ruin your entire project.
You should always follow the instructions on the packaging of any product that you buy so that you know exactly what to do when applying it.
Remember, if there is too much left over, it will end up ruining your concrete work and possibly getting into other areas as well. This can also cause discoloration in certain areas where there may have been some damage in the past.
If you’re going to perform a brick sealing, then make sure that all mortar joints are caulked properly with an appropriate adhesive before applying any sealer on top of them. This will ensure that no cracks or seams appear in the finished surface once everything dries out completely.
You will want to make sure that you are using a sealer that is designed for this type of application. Most sealers are only meant to be used on porous surfaces such as concrete and masonry. You can use these products on brick, but you will have to apply it more than once if you have a lot of mortar joints.
Once your bricks have been washed clean, wait for them to dry completely before moving onto the sealing process. This can take approximately a day depending on the humidity.
If you decide to seal your brick yourself, then make sure that you wear rubber gloves, eye goggles, and a mask when applying the sealer so that you do not get any unwanted splatters or spills on your clothes or skin.
To do brick sealing, you can use a roller, a pump sprayer, or a brush. You could use multiple tools at a time, such as spraying a coat of sealer with a pump and then smoothing it out with a roller.
Don’t let the brick sealer coat to pool; remove any puddles or extra drips with your brush or roller.
Let the first coat of brick sealer dry (how long you should wait generally depends on your brand of sealer). Afterwards, apply a second coat. Your bricks are now sealed properly, giving it protection against water damage and many more!
