Downsizing was a motion picture directed by Alexander Payne and was released on 22 December 2017. Some actors in the movie are Matt Damon, Hong Chau, Christoph Waltz, and Kristen Wig.
It was produced and distributed by Paramount Pictures Studios.
The movie tells us a story about a scientist who invented a scientific way to shrink people. Being less is scientifically a means to reduce people, and it has its own benefits as increased productivity and money.
A married couple, Paul and Audrey, decide to downsize to live a peaceful and successful life.
The film opened, showing Scientist Dr. Jorgen Asbjornsen (Rolf Lassgard) that performs an experiment on lab mice. The results of one of his experiments are remarkable and he rushes to tell his colleague about it.
They quickly meet and discuss how they can improve the lives of their employees.
Jorgen claims to have found what he has been searching for, and that causes him and his colleague, Andreas Jacobsen, to hug each other and celebrate.
Five years later, Andreas is addressing a crowd of people about the dangers of overpopulation, and he and Jorgen believe they have found a solution. Andreas opens a box to reveal that Jorgen is only five inches tall and everyone is stunned.
Andreas removes a bag containing the garbage that 36 children produced over a long period of time.
The doctors also brought out a group of tiny people, including a baby girl named Little Ronni, who was the first child ever to be born small.
People from all over the world witness this amazing breakthrough. Paul Safranek (Matt Damon) goes home to his mother after hearing about the news. He needs to take care of his mother, who has fibromyalgia.
