6 Simple Things You Can Do to Clear Your Mind

A full daily schedule can make your mind cluttered. When your mind is full of clutters, you are less able to think clearly and thus you can feel confused, agitated, and disorganized.

Besides the physical clutter that builds up around us as we use our daily routines and appliances, our minds can also feel cluttered with memories of the past.

It is impossible to eliminate all the things that we have believed as important in our lives, but we can help it to be more organized.

Here are 6 simple things you can do to clear your mind:

1) Simplify your schedule

Try out this time management technique by keeping a journal. Every day, list down all of your appointments for the day and jot down any tasks you have to do for yourself or others.

For example, write the date and time of every appointment you make for yourself, how long it will take you, who will be there with you, etc.

When you look at this list every morning before leaving home for work, you see that your appointments and tasks are just that — appointments and tasks.

They are not more important than anything else.

As long as you have taken care of the appointment or task, you can do whatever you want to do afterwards. In fact, the entire purpose of your schedule is to give you a time to do whatever you want to do.

This will free up your mind for anything else you need to think about in life.

2) Clear your mind with meditation

Meditation is an excellent way to clear your mind because it enables us to experience the purest form of being—non-action or “Wu Wei” in Chinese philosophy.

By emptying our minds, we can see things clearly and thus be able to make better decisions about what needs our attention.

Although many people feel they don’t have enough time for meditation, there are many ways for them to squeeze meditation into their daily schedules without feeling guilty about it.

One simple way is by taking 10 minutes each day and meditating on the most relaxing thing possible — nature!

The natural beauty of nature can be very soothing and calm a person’s mind and help him/her clear his/her mind.

3) Clear your mind with exercise

Although exercise is not as simple as meditation, it is still a very effective way to clear your mind.

By getting your body moving, you will let go of thoughts that are weighing you down and make room for the things that really matter in life.

Although you can find exercises that work well to clear your mind, one of the best ones is Tai Chi.

Tai Chi is a Chinese martial arts that is centered on health and longevity. The slow and graceful movements in Tai Chi help to calm the body and clear the mind.
