Stimulants can aggravate panic attacks. You should avoid coffee, tea, smoking, and alcohol. These things may seem to calm you down at first, but they will make the panic attack worse in the long run. Try drinking water instead.

4. Accept the fear

If you try to suppress the panic attack, it will only make it worse. Instead, accept that you have a panic attack. You should also remind yourself that these attacks are harmless and not dangerous. This way, you will be less afraid of a panic attack.
