We all have seen lava lamps at home or in school. Well, with this simple experiment, you can have your own DIY lava lamp as decoration.
The idea is that you fill a clear glass bottle with water and add a few drops of food coloring. The chemical reaction will make the food coloring dissolve in the water, and as the water evaporates, it creates small glowing particles of light.
By using a heat source, you can make the particles glow brighter and brighter.
You can do this science experiment at home easily by using an empty glass bottle, an eyedropper or pipette, some water, and some rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol).
Take a small amount of rubbing alcohol and dip it into the bottle, then pour out the rubbing alcohol onto a paper towel to dry it up. Now fill the bottle with water and pour in a little bit of rubbing alcohol to dissolve it into the water.
Once all of the rubbing alcohol has dissolved into the water, put your eye dropper on top of the bottle (or use your pipette) and carefully pour out some drops of liquid onto your paper towel for drying up completely. The end result will be tiny bubbles floating around in your container!
These are some fun science experiments that you can do at home. These experiments will teach you about physics, science, and how things work. By doing these experiments, you can have some science fun at the comfort of your own home.
