#3 Use Tasker to turn off your iPhone automatically when you go to sleep

If you are battery conscious, you might consider wanting to turn off your phone or putting it on airplane mode during the night.

Tasker is a great app that will help you turn off your iPhone automatically when you go to sleep. This app can be used on Android as well as iOS devices.

This app will turn off your phone if it is not being used for some time and can be used in different ways too. You can set this app up so that it turns off your phone automatically when you fall asleep at night or even in the morning after getting up from bed.

Here are some steps that you need to follow:

Step 1

First, download Tasker on your smartphone and then open it up. Sometimes downloading it via a cellular network is better than a wireless network.

You will see a blank screen here so tap on Add New Task option from the top left corner and select Other Apps & Notification from the next menu.

Then select App Lock from the next menu and tap on Add App option from the next menu. Now select Apple ID & Password for App and enter an Apple ID username and password for this app. Then tap on the OK button to proceed.

Step 2

Now, open up your app drawer and search for Apple ID & Password App. Tap on this app and it will open up a list of different options for this app.

You need to tap on the Add New Task option from the top left corner. This will open up a blank screen where you need to select the Lock screen option from the next menu.

Now, select Custom and set a password here so that you can lock your phone automatically if you do not want it to turn off in case it is not being used for some time.

Also, make sure that Allow lock screen when sleeping is turned on as well.

Step 3

Next, tap on the next menu where you will see the timer options as well as different other settings. Tap on the Start timer option and then set a time interval here too which is between 10 minutes to an hour depending upon your requirement.

You can also change how many times this app can be run by tapping on the Repeat option from the next menu too if you want to make it run multiple times in one day or at night as well.

After setting all these settings, tap on the OK button to save them and go back to the main Tasker menu again where you will see an icon of a smartphone on the screen.

Step 4

Now, tap on the back button from the top left corner and you will see a list of different options. You need to tap on Time & Date option and then select the Save Time option from the next menu.

This will save all your settings so that you can access them anytime in the future. Tap on the Done button to save these settings and go back to the main Tasker menu again where you will see an icon of a smartphone on the screen.

Step 5

Now, tap on the Home button again and you will see a list of different options like Settings, App drawer, Timer options, etc. Tap on the More settings option from here and select the Scheduled tasks option from here.

This will open up a list of different apps that can be used as Tasker tasks too. Tap on Add new task option from here and select the Lock screen option from this menu too.

Now enter your password for this app here and set a time interval here as well which is between 10 minutes to an hour depending upon your requirement.

Then tap on the Save button to save all these settings for this app as well as go back to the main Tasker menu again where you will see an icon of a smartphone on the screen.

Step 6

Now, tap on the back button from the top left corner and you will see a list of different options like Settings, App drawer, Timer options, etc. Tap on the More settings option from here and select the Lock screen option from this menu too.

Now enter your password for this app here and set a time interval here as well which is between 10 minutes to an hour depending upon your requirement.

Then tap on the Save button to save all these settings for this app as well as go back to the main Tasker menu again where you will see an icon of a smartphone on the screen.

Step 7

Now, go to the main Tasker menu again where you will see an icon of a smartphone on the screen. Tap on the home button from the top left corner and then tap on the Restore all default settings option from this menu too.

This will restore all your settings back to their default values that you had previously saved in Step 4 above.
