A healthy diet has a direct effect on the amount of sleep you need and your sleep quality in general.

This article will show what kind of food you should avoid to improve sleep quality and quantity.

Here are 5 things to avoid if you want to have good sleep:

1. Caffeine

Caffeine is the most popular and addictive drug in the world. It is commonly used to improve concentration and performance, but it also has a negative impact on sleep.

It is found in coffee, tea, chocolate and many other foods. Some people may have no problem with high caffeine intake, but for others it can cause insomnia and anxiety.

The major problem is that it interferes with the quality of sleep and leads to fatigue and daytime sleepiness.

High daily intake of caffeine can cause headaches, nausea, anxiety and stomachaches.

The most important thing to remember is that it should be avoided if you want to get a good night’s sleep.

2. Alcohol

Drinking alcohol can disturb your sleep because of its stimulating effects on the central nervous system. Many people say they feel sleepy after a couple of drinks of wine or beer.

However, this feeling usually disappears after a while as your body gets used to the effects of alcohol (or if you don’t drink at all).

Your poor sleep quality could be caused by alcohol’s stimulating effects on the central nervous system, which affects your sleep and wake cycles.

Alcohol also impairs your ability to fall asleep, and can lead to more sleep problems in the following day.

3. High-Sugar and High-Sodium Foods

A diet high in sugar can cause insulin resistance, which can cause a high level of cortisol, which leads to insomnia.

Your brain needs enough glucose for normal functioning, so if you eat too much sugar, you will have a problem sleeping.

Sugar can also cause weight gain, which can further reduce your quality of sleep. High-sodium foods can also cause cardiovascular disease.

Your brain needs adequate protein and essential fatty acids to stay healthy, so if you are not eating enough meat, fish or eggs, it’s hard to get a healthy sleep time.
