Have you ever felt the urge to bake something for your dearest friend only to realize that they have lactose intolerance?

There’s no need to worry anymore! There are plenty of substitutes that are full of flavor and completely dairy-free.

I have tried them myself, and the result was a lovely, soft loaf of baked goods that was totally yummy. Here are the best dairy-free substitutes for baking:

Coconut milk yogurt

This is a great substitute. You can use it in baking cakes, muffins, bread, and many other baked goods. Mixed with a bit of sugar and vanilla extract, it is the closest thing to yogurt.

The yogurt consistency is thicker, making it perfect for recipes that call for yogurt and need to be thickened a bit.

1 cup of coconut milk yogurt = 1 cup of yogurt

Coconut oil

Coconut oil is an excellent substitute for butter. It keeps the baked good moist and soft. Coconut oil is more expensive than butter, but it has so many other uses besides baking ( I use it for my skin and hair) that it is worth the investment.
