3. Repellent Spray

Spray a repellent on your plants to keep animals away from them.

Most repellents will only repel the animal for a few days before they are used to the smell and taste of it. You will have to reapply it regularly until you are sure that the animal has moved on or stopped eating your vulnerable plants.

For a small flower garden, try using dried blood meal or coffee grounds sprinkled around the plants as an effective repellent for rabbits and deer.

For larger areas, use commercial repellents that last longer than homemade or natural repellents. While it is an effective method, try to find the most affordable price for you as well.

If you use commercial products on your plants, be sure not to spray them directly onto any part of the plant itself; just spray on top of the soil surrounding each plant as well as around it.

4. Sprinkler

Try using a motion-activated sprinkler or a motion-activated sprinkler timer to keep unwanted visitors out of your garden. Animals will not be able to see the motion-activated sprinkler until it sprays them. They will run away from it, especially if they are already in your garden.

5. Wildlife Control Company

Hire a wildlife control company to do your pest management method for you. Many companies offer both deer and rabbit control as well as raccoon and squirrel control, depending on where you live.

If you have a very large area that needs controlling, this may be the best option for you. It is much more cost-effective than trying to do it yourself or building a fence large enough to keep out a larger type of animal such as deer and rabbits.

Conclusion:

Once you have chosen the method that is best for you, try to keep animals out of your garden by keeping your garden beds as clean as possible.

Keep grass mowed and leaves raked, and pick up any fruit or vegetables that drop to the ground to protect your garden from pests.

Also, do not leave pet food outside at night, as this will attract animals that may decide to dig up your plants while they are eating.
