So you sleep early and you’re still waking up in the middle of the night. Or, worse, you’re still up and you can’t fall asleep. The problem is that your mind is racing with thoughts, trying to make sense of what happened yesterday, the day before that, and so on. 

Your brain has this way of storing everything and anything it can in the information storage place. The next thing you know, your alarm clock goes off for another sleepless night. 

And let’s face it—no one wants to have terrible sleep patterns. No one wants to feel that their actions or behavior are out of their control.

But what if I told you that there was a way to stop this from happening? What if I told you that there was a way to help your brain calm down? If you use it to calm down during the day, it will also help you sleep better at night.

So, here they are.

4 Ways to Help You Sleep Early

You can use these four tips to help you go to sleep early.

Tip #1: Change Your Sleep Habits

One of the biggest problems that people have when they can’t fall asleep is that they don’t go to bed on time. 

The problem is that going to bed at the same time every night makes it easier for your brain to associate bedtime with sleepiness. It also makes it easier for your brain to remember when you should be asleep. 

So, if you want to stop waking up in the middle of the night, then make sure that you’re going to bed at the same time each night. Start your night routine hours before bedtime.

For example, instead of going to bed at 11 pm, try going to bed at 10 pm or even at 9 pm. This will give your brain a break from the association of going to sleep with being sleepy and tired and will make it easier for you to fall asleep at a more reasonable hour.

2. Try a Sleep Meditation

A good way to get your brain to calm down is to do a sleep meditation. 

There are many types of sleep meditations, but the one that I recommend is called the Slow-Wave Sleep (SWS) meditation. 

This is because it works for most people. 

This type of meditation is because when you’re sleeping, your brain goes through cycles of activity. Every 90 minutes, your brain goes through what’s called a slow-wave sleep cycle. 

In these cycles, your brain goes through 4 stages: Stage 1 (drowsiness), Stage 2 (sleep), Stage 3 (dreaming), and Stage 4 (deep sleep). 

During these four stages, there are fresh waves of activity in your brain. The waves get bigger and smaller as they go through each stage. 

What this means is that if you can tune in to what’s going on in your brain during these stages, then you can find out how to control your dreams and how to fall asleep at night much easier than you normally would.
