How To Prevent Play-Biting
If you’re not sure why your cat is playing with your clothing, here are some things to consider:
- Check to see if there is a scratching post nearby that your cat could be using to get rid of their natural instinct to scratch on other items. If this is the case, find another one and put it in the same place that you were using the old one.
- Your cat may not realize that this is a safe spot for them to scratch so if they continue to scratch at your clothing, it could lead to damage and even infections!
- Make sure that the location where you keep the scratching post is a safe area for you and any other family members or guests who may be visiting at any time.
- If there are small children in the house, make sure that you teach them not to reach out and pet cats or dogs in general because they can get bitten!
- Another great way to keep cats from biting people is by providing them with toys such as balls or anything else that will keep them busy but still have some sort of stimulation so they don’t just sit around all day.
- This will help reduce stress and boredom so they won’t have time to act out on you!

If you have a cat that does not have an underlying reason for this behavior, then you can try and reduce the amount of stress they are experiencing by giving them more exercise and stimulation. In addition, if they are getting enough food and water, it will help them to stay healthy and reduce the risk of any diseases that may be affecting them.
