Make sure you know which spice will work for your dish.
Simply winging it on spices will not work. You can get the wrong spice or too much of it. It would ruin your dish.
Make sure you know how much to put in.
If you dump in spices, it will ruin your dish. You wouldn’t want to use too little spice or too much spice.
Make sure the spice blends well with the dish.
You do not wish to use a spice like ginger for a dish that has beef in it. Ginger doesn’t go well with meat. If you want to cook beef, you can use allspice, oregano, cumin, and pepper. Ginger would be good with chicken, beef, or pork.

Don’t make your dish too spicy.
You would not want to put in too much of a spice. You wouldn’t want to put in cayenne for a dish that has meat in it. Cayenne can be too spicy for the meat. If you want to spice up the meat, you can use paprika, cumin, and oregano.
Make sure you do not burn the spices.
If you burn the spices, it will give your dish an awful taste. You can mix the spices with a bit of oil first and then add them to the dish. Mixing the spice with oil helps to avoid burning them and keeping the spices fresh.
Make sure you add it in the correct order.
Add in the seasonings in the proper order. If you add in the dish too early, it would not be as good. You wouldn’t want to ruin the dish by adding in the spices too early.
