Alex gets information from his father’s security company about the homes that people are living in while they are away. He enlists the help of his friends to steal items from those houses.
‘Don’t Breathe’ opens in one such scenario where we catch the three stealing from what looks like a splendid mansion.
After successfully stealing some valuable objects, they decide to sell them to a middleman who refuses to pay the right amount for the stolen items.
The trio tries to break into the house of someone they think would be a suitable target for one last heist and to get enough money to leave the town.
Money tracks down a blind US Army special forces veteran who lives alone in his house and has close to $300,000 in cash.
The man is a good man but had no money to buy things in the house; they gave the money to him to get a better deal after his daughter was involved in a car accident.
A Heist Plan Goes Wire
The same night, the trio reaches the man’s house and drugs his dog before finding a way in. Rocky finds a window to enter the house.
She opens the back door to let two other boys in and steals the money. Money moves upstairs and finds a veteran who is sleeping with a TV playing a video of her daughter.
Money leaves a bottle of sleeping gas in a man’s room and placing it underneath his bed. Rocky, Alex, and Money look around for the money.
Money assumes that she is behind the locked door on the first floor, so she fires a gun to force the door to open.
This wakes up the blind old man. He holds onto her while Rocky watches.
Money tells the man he is alone, but the old man responds by shooting him dead. Money and Alex realize how awful things are.
Rocky sees an old man going into the room where she is hiding and opening a safe box.
Rocky seizes the opportunity to steal money as soon as the man is gone. He later finds a pair of shoes belonging to Rocky and realizes that there are more strangers hiding in his house.
What Happens Next?
Alex and Rocky, desperate to escape from the basement. They discover a young woman tied to chains in a padded cell and unable to get out. Alex and Rocky help the woman get out of her chained cell.
She desperately wants to escape. She shows them a newspaper clipping from which they understand it is actually Cindy Roberts, played by Franciska Torocsik, who is the rich teenage girl who killed an old man’s daughter by running over her.
Alex and Rocky rescue Cindy and take her to the cellar where they confront the old man again, who fires shots at them without warning.
He shoots a bullet into her body and ended her life.
Alex and Rocky hide in the cellar as an old man holds up the body of a woman who has been murdered.
He cries out to her ‘My Baby’. With rage, the old man turns off the lights in his cellar.
Alex and Rocky, now blind, stumble on to the upper floor. Alex and Rocky, now blind like the hunter, stumble up to the upper floor.
