Mental health problems are more common than people think. These problems affect everyone differently, but people can relate to some common experiences and feelings.

This is important because if you feel this way, you are not alone, and other people have felt like this. There are four important things about how to look after your mental health.

Talking is important. It can be tough to do. Sometimes it may feel like there is no one you can talk to. But there is.

This might be your GP, a psychologist, your teachers, a friend’s parent, your family, a school nurse, a youth worker, a helpline, a website, or someone online.

There are lots of people who can help and support you. Everyone’s support is different, but the important thing is you find the right support for you.

2. Seek help and treatment if you need it

If you feel stressed, anxious, or unhappy, you can do things to help yourself feel better. If you find it difficult to manage or worsen, you should talk to someone and let them know how you are feeling.
