Do-It-Yourself has been a motto for a while. From the early days of Youtube to old-time radio shows to the very recent DIY networks, people have always wanted to know how things are made. In fact, the very first rule of life is “make it, don’t buy it.”
DIY has become a subculture unto itself, with entire channels on Youtube and many hand made items being sold on Etsy. A good portion of the items in your house has been made by people who wanted to know how things are made.
Here are three top DIY projects that you can do to save money and learn something new.

1. Making your own fabric softener
This is by far the most popular DIY project. All you need to make your own fabric softener is a few cups of distilled water, a few cups of white vinegar, some essential oils, and a squirt bottle.
Mix the water and vinegar together, add essential oils, and you are good to go. Not only is it cheap, but it saves you from having to buy those pesky fabric softener sheets. Plus, in the end, you have a bottle of vinegar that you can use to clean your house!
