What is a Toxic Relationship?

Signs of a Toxic Relationship

If you’re in a toxic relationship, it’s important to get out as soon as possible. Here are five telltale signs that you need to know!

1. Lack of Trust

Happy couples trust each other. When things start to go wrong, the first thing that goes is trust.

In a toxic relationship, one or both of the people involved may not trust the other. This can lead to problems with communication, as neither person is likely to open up fully.

2. Constant Fighting

When two people are unhappy, they’re likely to fight. In a toxic relationship, this fighting is often constant and pointless.

It doesn’t matter what the issue is – the two people are just going to be arguing. This can make it very difficult to live together, and can even lead to violence.

Time to time arguments are okay, but when it’s happening all the time, it’s a warning sign that something is wrong.

3. No Mutual Respect

The sign of toxicity is when one partner has little or no respect for the other. When two people are in a healthy relationship, they respect each other’s opinions and feelings.

However, bad relationships often lead to one partner not respecting the other. This can lead to problems with communication, as the other person is likely to be defensive.
